Court Ash House

COURT ASH HOUSE – YEOVIL, SOMERSET: £1m

Conversion scheme of an existing 1970’s office block, located within a dedicated Conservation Area, transforming the property into 23no residential apartments.

In addition to conversion works, two new storeys were added to the building, by means of erection of a Structurally Insulated Panel system.

Involvement ranging from planning through to completion, ensuring any and all necessary alterations and variations to the original design were captured and communicated throughout.

The additional storeys were craned into place with remarkable speed of assembly, forming the new wall and roof structures. The exterior of the existing building undertook structural alterations at ground floor level to allow for the development of a series of garages and openings to the front terraces.

Upon commencement, the entire building was stripped back to the original structure, allowing for new plumbing, electrics, kitchens, bathrooms, tiling to be installed within the new apartment layouts.

The transformation, while formidable, was considered a great success by all, and now assists the community in providing low-cost starter units in the heart of the Town Centre of Yeovil.
