Bamford’s were appointed Main Contractor to undertake works to a stunning Listed Building, including the conversion of an existing listed garage outbuilding, to provide new Utility, Mezzanine, Garage, Storage & Dog Wash Station alongside installation of an Air Source Heat Pump.

The works also consisted of an independent & bespoke structural glazing link between the newly converted building & the existing main dwelling, alongside installation of full length structural glazing to the facing roof of the outbuilding conversion.

With the existing building being of listed status, Bamford’s had to carefully consider all aspects of the works, ensuring compliance with not only Building Control & Planning, but also to the approval of Heritage England conditions.

The end result is an impressive and striking blend of new architecture, tying two historic structures together.

External hard & soft landscaping, including steps, paving & garden walling also formed part of the scheme, with the existing main dwelling painstakingly re-pointed bringing the historic structure back to life.

Following the internal strip out, existing external stone walls were infilled, and openings created to accommodate the new layout.

The existing roof structure was adapted to accommodate the full length structural glazing installed to the facing roof of the outbuilding including re-roofing works.

External walls and ground floor slabs were provided with a thermal upgrade, including underpinning existing foundations.
